Renewable Energy And Water
Sustainable Energy and Water (SEW) research group as a multidisciplinary team, aims to use transdisciplinary approaches to develop impactful sustainable solutions in water, energy and waste management for communities, which will advance the UN SDGs.
Strength
- Clean water and sanitation – Supply safe drinking water to rural and urban communities in a changing climate by developing new technologies and web-based tools. Sewer infrastructure corrosion control technologies.
- Food-water-energy nexus – Treatment/management of solid waste and wastewater to recover water, energy, nutrient and useful by-products.
- Monitor and develop mitigation measures to manage emerging pollutants.
- Water for liveable cities – Climate smart urban stormwater infrastructure, flood risk and resilience modelling, rainfall forecasting, rainwater/ stormwater harvesting, urban green infrastructure.
- Sustainable house, solar car, and solar tiles.
- Optimisation of energy consumption within urban environment.
