2023 Events
30 October - Speed Networking
Our second speed networking event before our summer holidays. This is one of the major networking session for our student to link with our industry partners. We have over 40 industry partners participated and over 150 student attended the event. It was a very fruitful event. I would like to thank the WoW team for organising this event. The include Sharidan Kearney, Dayani Nayantha, Neelam Singh, Kuer Duot, Ella Shibram, Yuekai Deshe, Tharika Kahandawa Arachchi and Samantha Stojanovski. Not forget our supporting team, Christophe Camille, Sameera Pathirana and Saman Karimi for helping in this event. Lastly I would like to thanks our Industry Engagement Officer, Sharidan Kearney for organising this event.
21 August - Ice Breaker
The second ice breaker event for mid year intake female student at School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment. We had wonderful 3 industry female speakers from early career to senior level. They are Nishat Siddique (Project Manager), Kelly Van der Zander (Architect) and Kuer Duot (Civil Engineer). It was intimate event and surprisingly very emotional event that made a few of us in tears. I would like to thanks Aso Hajirasouli, Tharika Kahandawa Arachchi and Sharidan Kearney for helping me organising the successful and inspiring event.
3 May - Speed Networking
Women of Wisdom (WoW) organised a speed networking event. There were 20 industry partners participated and the event was sponsored by Engineers Australia. This is part of providing networking opportunities for our current students and possibilities of securing jobs. Industry partners were impressed with our students. I would like to thanks my team Alyce Coleman, Neelam Singh, Kuer Duot, Yeukai Deshe, Tharika Kahandawa Arachchi, Semandara Farhan and Saman Karimi for their great help organising this event.
2022 Events
19 September - Speed Networking
WoW Speed networking first time face to face event after Covid. This is very special event as we invited 18 industry partners range from Tier 1 to small companies to meet our talented pool of students. This is my initiatives to showcase our students to industry partners and for help them to successfully secure graduate position after they completed the degree. I would like to thank the organising committee. SNazanin HSalehi, Dayani Nayantha, Samanthika Liyanapathirana, Samantha Stojanovski, Laura Almeida and Neelam Singh for planning this meeting event. I also like to thank the WoW students representative Kuer Duot, Yeukai Deshe, Ella Shibram, Semandara Farhan and Carol Hajjar for helping in the event. Lastly Sameera Pathirana for time management during the night.
10 August - Ice Breaker
WoW organised Ice Breaker event. This event aims to showcase our first year female student from School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment the support system and networking opportunities. We invited 2 very special guest speakers Ruth Hoog Antink from Jacobs and Tanya McErlean from Richard Crookes Constrictions to speak about their life as engineers and project managers. It was good to see our engineering, construction management and industry design attended this events. An event would not be successful without a good team working on it, I would like to thank Dayani Nayantha, Kuer Duot and Shibram for organising this wonderful event.
21 April - Speed Networking
Last night we had our Women of Wisdom Speed Networking Event. We invited 9 industry partners from Lendlease, GHD, Turnbull Engineering, Dolby, Trazlbat, Fulton Hogan, infrastructure NSW, Broadcrest and John Holland. This event is to give our student opportunity to network and gain experience from the industry. I would like to thank Dayani Nayantha, Christophe Camille, Rumman Waqas , Laura Almeida Samanthika Liyanapathirana, Ella Shibram ,Kuer Duot Neelam Singh, Thy Pham , Heimy Molina and SNazanin HSalehi for helping in this event.
