Professor Wei Xing Zheng, Professor, School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics

For well over two decades at WSU, Professor Wei Xing Zheng has shown himself to be a distinguished scholar with an exceptional long-term track record in publications and competitive research grants, as well as proven excellent research leadership. One of the University’s most prolific researchers, he has published two books, over 280 journal articles and over 270 conference proceeding papers. He is the first or sole chief investigator of four ARC Discovery Projects. He was honoured with the prestigious IEEE Fellow for contributions to signal processing and system identification in 2013. He was thrice named a Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher in 2015, 2016 and 2017, making an extraordinary contribution to promoting the international profile and reputation of the university.
