Biography

My research is in mental health and wellbeing using mobile phone-based data collection, particularly sensor data and paradata but also ecological momentary assessment and linked data. My PhD project reflected these interests, being a longitudinal cohort study off psychological wellbeing and mental health among university students, using a smartphone- based research platform to gather survey data, sensor data and paradata; these were also linked with administrative data.

I also have interests in novel methods in evidence synthesis via systematic reviews. One aspect of this is using computational methods to search for, screen, and extract data from papers in the process of systematic review. Another aspect is the use of semipartial and partial correlations for meta-analysis of longitudinal observational studies.

In addition to my primary research domain of mental health, I have published in opioid treatment, health in incarcerated populations, and a large number of systematic reviews, particularly in infectious disease transmission, novel health service models, disability health, and aged care.

I have worked in research positions at The University of Sydney, The Sax Institute, and Western Sydney University.
