Visiting Fellows

The ICS is honoured each year to receive visits by a number of exceptional scholars who are working in fields of fundamental interest to the Institute. If you would like to be considered for appointment as an honorary visiting Professor or Fellow, please submit an expression of interest to an ICS Member who may be able to act as your host.

“I came to ICS to learn from other cross-disciplinary researchers working in the humanities with a focus on action-oriented research. My work on Christmas Island’s labour and immigration history draws on a variety of techniques across history, anthropology, and art, and I’ve been lucky to connect with some brilliant colleagues who similarly wield multiple modes of inquiry to deliver outcomes in a problem space they care deeply about, ranging from community zine-making on Norfolk Island to studies of Antarctic architecture. Not being from a traditional social sciences background myself, I’m deeply grateful to ICS for providing such a welcoming home for interdisciplinary scholarship and for expanding my ideas of what a scholar can be and do.”
