Description | THRI welcomes Adjunct Professor Elias Mpofu to Western Sydney University! Prof Mpofu will begin his adjunct role at Western with a colloquium talk entitled: Sustainable Leadership in the Health Service Sciences: Vision and Strategy. Prof Mpofu’s talk will focus on research leadership vision and strategy configuring communities of learning, teaching and research in health services, community engaged scholarship, translational learning, teaching and research strategies for increasing research impact and visibility strategy. WSU Staff involved with Faculty/School, Community, Alumni, Industry and donor, as well as international engagement initiatives, will find the colloquium very relevant to their activities. |
About Professor Mpofu Prof Mpofu has been engaged with communities, researchers and students linked with WSU since 2013. Within THRI Prof Mpofu’s work will be across a range of teaching, research and community participation activities aligned with Western’s Securing Success 2018-2020 Strategic Plan. These activities include: The development of multidisciplinary teaching materials; Supporting and collaborating with ECR/Mid-career researchers in the development of National and Industry grants; Embedding evidence based exploratory processes in HDR supervision and mentorship; Connecting WSU researchers to opportunities for collaboration, partnership and networking in the USA and Africa; Engaged in community projects in Western Sydney to support the health and wellbeing of marginalised populations using participatory action approaches to research and intervention; and Mentorship of ECR/Mid-career academics with a focus on supporting marginalised populations in securing success within academia. |
