Associate Professor Vincent Wong

Biography

Dr Vincent Wong graduated from University of Sydney and pursued his training in endocrinology at Westmead Hospital, Sydney. He was awarded his PhD in 2005 (University of Sydney) for his clinical and basic research the field of insulin action on the ischaemic myocardium. Currently he is senior staff specialist and the Director of Diabetes and Endocrine Service at Liverpool and Fairfield Hospitals. He is one of the co-founders of the Liverpool Diabetes Collaborative Research Unit at Ingham Institute of Applied Medical Science and is the Liverpool Lead for DOMTRU. He is Conjoint Associate Professor at the South Western Sydney Clinical School at University of New South Wales.

His current research interests include gestational diabetes, diabetic cardiomyopathy and diabetic retinopathy. He is committed to improving diabetes care for residents of Sydney South West, and to reduce their rate of diabetic complications.
