US partners with NICM on innovation, science and research

NICM continues to build its global engagement and partnerships in science, signing earlier this month a Memorandum of Understanding with the United States' National Center for Natural Products Research (NCNPR) (opens in a new window) at the University of Mississippi.

Research collaboration and partnerships like this are vital for increasing the evidence-base, and the safety, quality and efficacy of natural products says Professor Alan Bensoussan, NICM director.

"This is an exciting opportunity for sharing our capabilities and supporting each other's research with inter-lab validations, development of IP, and clinical testing of products," said Professor Bensoussan.

The Memorandum of Understanding supports the Australian Government's National Innovation and Science Agenda and Global Innovation Strategy, advancing international science and research collaboration.

This international collaboration supports the exchange of academic knowledge, and sharing ideas and approaches to solving global health challenges.

Scientific resources will be shared by the scientists as they work together on various research projects and other scholarly activities.

The NCNPR focuses on natural product drug discovery and development.
