2168 Children’s Parliament Evaluation
In the spirit of article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the 2168 Children’s Parliament program, led by Liverpool City Council, aims to build children’s capacity to actively engage in civic life by increasing their knowledge and understanding of their rights and responsibilities. The program was launched in 2017 and engages 40 Parliamentarians (aged 9-12 years old) per year from ten schools in the Liverpool local government area.
The overarching evaluation employs a mixed methods approach, including interviews, surveys and Living Lab workshops, to assess the individual, organisational and community impacts of the 2168 Children’s Parliament program, as well as analyse the effectiveness of the program in building children’s capacities to actively engage in civic life. The evaluation aims to enable participating agencies to reflect on the process, impacts and outcomes of the Program, as well as design future directions, potentials and priorities for the 2168 Children’s Parliament.
