Betty Ngyuen Announced Finalist in the Western Sydney Women Awards!
Young and Resilient Research Assistant, Betty Ngyuen, is a finalist in the Western Sydney Women Awards. Betty was nominated for the Western Sydney Young Woman of the Year Award category, for her contributions to Young & Resilient, and the Wellbeing Health & Youth Centre of Research Excellence.
Betty conducts research that advocates for young people's rights, their engagement in research, policy and practice, and explores the role of technology in the lives of children and young people.
The news came as surprise; however, she hopes this recognition will highlight the importance of meaningfully working with young people, in all stages of research, policy and health services.
Betty aspires to continue a journey of lifelong learning, and to make positive impact for young people, “to ensure that children and young people feel heard, empowered and valued when sharing their opinions about the things that matter most to them,” she says.
The Western Sydney Young Woman of the Year Award category recognises young women between 18-25 years old, who make impact in their community, field of work, business or policy. The winners will be announced at the Awards Gala on 30 November at the Bankstown Sports.
Good luck Betty. The Young & Resilient team has seen the impact of your work firsthand, and we’ll be cheering you on the whole way!
