Week 10: The Nirimba site

Twenty five years ago this week the Nirimba campus at Blacktown was the HMAS Nirimba, a Royal Australian Navy training base. HMAS Nirimba was commissioned on 1 April 1953 and operated as a training facility for Naval apprentices.

Week 9: The Kingswood site

The Kingswood site of the Penrith Campus started out as the Nepean College of Advanced Education (NCAE). Even though the NCAE was established in 1973, it wasn’t until early 1977 that construction works were completed on the main building.

Week 8: The Hawkesbury site

Twenty five years ago this week Hawkesbury campus at Richmond was UWS Hawkesbury. The construction of the Hawkesbury site began in 1891.

Week 7: The Campbelltown site

Twenty five years ago this week Campbelltown campus was part of the Macarthur Institute of Higher Education, joining the University to become part of the University of Western Sydney Macarthur in November 1989.

Week 6: The Bankstown site

Twenty five years ago this week the Bankstown campus was the Macarthur Institute of Higher Education, joining the University to become part of the University of Western Sydney Macarthur in November 1989.
