Default Text box style

You can create a default text box style for Publisher. This way you can choose your own font and style and make it consistent through your publication.

To start with you need to modify an existing text box. You can then Copy and paste it (then change the content) or you can create a Building Block and use this every time you want a text box.

To modify the text.

  • From the Insert tab, in the Objects group, choose Draw Text Box.
  • Using the cursor (cross Hair) draw a text box. Don't worry too much about the size.
  • To change the style of the text;
    • Type in some text (1) (Hint: You will give the style a name later so type this name to
      make it more obvious)
    • Select it all (You can triple click the text to select it all)
    • Right mouse click anywhere inside the Text Box and choose Change Text. (2) ‚
    • Choose Font.
    • Choose your Font, size and any other options.
    • Click OK to finish.
    • If you want more options, choose Change Text again.
  • To change the style of the box itself;
    • Right mouse click anywhere inside the Text Box and choose Format Text Box ….(3)ƒ
    • Choose the Text Box tab.

To create (Save) a Building Block.

  • Right mouse click anywhere inside the Text Box and choose Save as Building Block. „(4)
    The dialog box opens.
  • Give the Block a name (This is the same as giving a style a name in Word or Excel.)
  • Click OK

To Use a Building Block.

  • From the Insert menu, in the Building Blocks group, choose Page Parts.
  • Click on your style and it will appear as a Text box on the page.
