Selecting text in Word

Shortcuts for selecting text in Word:

To select: Action:
One word: Double click the word
paragraph: Triple click on a word
A sentence: Hold Ctrl and click once with your mouse
Non-consecutive words: Hold the Ctrl key down and double click each word
A single line: On the left side of your Word document, there is an invisible "Selection Bar". Move your cursor to the selection bar and when your cursor turns to a right pointing arrow, click the mouse  (see image below)
Multiple paragraphs/sentences: Click at the beginning of the required text, hold the Shift key down and click at the end of the required text
Part of a document: Press and hold the Alt key starting at the top left of the text, click your mouse and drag as far to the right and/or downward to select part of the text
