Changing font size in Microsoft Outlook

For Outlook 2010

There are a few ways to change font sizes in Outlook 2010, depending where you are.

For the email pane;

  • from the View tab, in the Current View group, choose View Settings;
    • click Other Settings
    • click the Row Font button
    • choose the font style and size you want and click OK.
  • If you want to change the font size for your message list headings, click the Column Font button and make the changes there.

For an open message

You can do either of the following;

  • from the Message tab, in the Zoom group, click Zoom;
    • Choose the zoom level and click OK.
  • press & hold the Ctrl key and scroll your mouse wheel.

For the Navigation pane;

  • right mouse click an option (such as an icon at the bottom of the navigation pane)
  • choose Navigation Pane Options
  • select (Highlight) the option* you want to change the font on and click Font
  • choose the font size and any other features you want to change and click OK.
    *You can modify the font for your email, folder list, contacts, tasks and more.

For Outlook 2007

For the email pane;

  • from the View menu, choose Current View;
    • choose Customize Current View
    • click Other Settings and click Row Font
    • change the font style and size you want and click OK
  • if you want to change the font size for your message list headings, click the Column Font button and make your changes.

For an open message;

  • click on Other Actions and select Zoom
  • choose the zoom level and click OK.

For the Navigation pane;

  • right mouse click an option (such as an icon at the bottom of the navigation pane)
  • choose Navigation Pane Options.
  • select (Highlight) the option* you want to change the font on and click Font.
  • choose the font size and any other features you want to change and click OK.

    *You can modify the Navigation Pane font for your email, folder list, contacts, tasks and others.
