Welcome to the School of Health Sciences. We provide exciting and contemporary undergraduate and postgraduate programs which include a strong base of core knowledge followed by specialist study in a large range of disciplines. Our undergraduate programs include allied or clinical health programs (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Speech Pathology, Paramedicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Recreation Therapy) and a range of other health science programs such as Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Services Management, Sport Development, Sport and Exercise Science, and Health and Physical Education. Our postgraduate programs offer high-level Master’s training in areas including Public Health, Health Science, and Chinese Medicine.
Postgraduate students have the opportunity to undertake research degrees at a Masters and PhD level, and through their study, work with many internationally and nationally-renowned researchers.
Having the clinical and non-clinical health sciences and our sport-related disciplines under the single umbrella of the School allows for our strategic intent to provide cutting-edge, integrated, and contemporary learning and research experiences. Our students are offered exciting opportunities to develop professional skills by working closely with our industry and community partners. Students can also elect to gain international experience through their programs of study. Our students are educated to solve complex problems by working collaboratively across discipline boundaries.
Our state of the art teaching and research facilities allow our students to learn in a contemporary and exciting environment. We have modern research and teaching laboratories with advanced scientific equipment which caters for all of the health and sport science disciplines.
The School of Health Sciences is justifiably proud of its research pursuits. Our staff and students have strong and meaningful collaborations with research institutes, public and private health organisations, industry partners, and community organisations at local, national, and international levels. Our collaborations with NICM Health Research Institute, the Translational Health Research Institute (THRI), and the Men's Health Information and Resource Centre place us firmly on the world stage. Our other research strengths in areas including health and well-being, sport and exercise science, clinical science, rehabilitation and neuroscience, and physical activity and health are testament to our commitment to solving important problems and contributing to society.
