Property Developer Investing in a Smart Modern Construction Industry.

Residential property developer Dahua Group is investing in the future leaders of the construction industry by supporting construction students at Western Sydney University.

Mr Eric Li, CEO of Dahua Group Australia, NSW & QLD, attended a recent function hosted by the Centre for Smart Modern Construction at which the first group of Dahua scholarship recipients were acknowledged.

We are committed to long term investment in Australia, evidenced by our presence along the East Coast of Australia. In NSW, our recent focus has been in two master planned communities in south western Sydney, so it makes perfect sense to show support for future talents from the areas that our projects are situated in, helping to pave the way for these talents to make positive impacts to the industry once they graduate.’, said Mr Li.

Especially pleasing to the university is that the introduction came from a past student now working with Dahua. Ludmila Papusheva, Head of HR and Corporate Services, has fond memories of her time at Western and remembered that they have one of the largest construction management courses in the country. ‘I am glad to have the opportunity to work with such a reputable institution with strong talent pipelines. To our delight, the scholarships were awarded promptly this year, I am hoping that this is the start of a long and prosperous collaboration between Dahua and Western Sydney University.’

Megan Lehane, in her final year of the Bachelor of Construction Management and recipient of the Dahua Construction Scholarship, has an interest in modular construction and innovation in an evolving industry.

“I love learning about new innovations in the industry and how we can all contribute to sustainability. I have a strong passion for incredible green spaces, as this is where I personally get so much joy,” said Megan.

After starting work in the industry in 2015 and progressing to an Estimator, Megan hopes to move into a leadership role in the next five years and is inspired by the great opportunities that have been available to her.

“I strive to be a part of the senior management and leadership team and will always aim to reduce the gender gap in management positions and strongly encourage our company to employ, nurture and grow our female talent,” she said.
