Meriton International Fellow Helena Lidelow visits MBS (Modular Building Systems) at Smithfield
The Centre for Smart Modern Construction organized a visit to MBS (Modular Building Systems) at Smithfield on 13 September as part of the visit of Meriton International Fellow A/Prof Helena Lidelow. Nick Luzar, State Manager (NSW and ACT) - Hansen Yuncken coordinated with the Centre and MBS to arrange the site visit. Helena leads the engineering department at Lindbäcks Bygg, Sweden, where they specialise in offsite construction, and MBS is one of the largest modular construction companies in Sydney. The MBS factory tour and the presentations and discussion that followed enabled many insights and knowledge on modular construction to be shared among the participants. Lew Deegan, General Manager, Joshua Chaplin, Sales Director, and Jano Vermaak, Construction Manager of MBS conducted the tour and led the discussion. Several staff members and PhD students of the Centre also took part in the visit.
