CM (TRIM)

CM (TRIM) is the official recordkeeping system for Western Sydney University. The system is maintained by the Records & Archives Management Services (RAMS) team. Access to the system requires a WesternNow request, which will be fulfilled by the RAMS team.

Training in CM (TRIM) is also provided by the RAMS team, to request training, please email RAMS.

It is an enterprise document and records management system (EDRMS) for physical and electronic information designed to help businesses capture, manage, and secure business information in order to meet governance and regulatory compliance obligations. It has been used at Western Sydney University since 2004. It was formerly known as TRIM, HPE TRIM, TRIM Context, TRIM (Content Manager) and Content Manager (TRIM).

The advantages of this system are extensive, and include desktop integration with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project). CM (TRIM) is also accessible via the web at the following link.

Records Support Officer

Each unit within the University has been assigned a Records Support Officer within Records & Archives Management Services (RAMS), to provide guidance in

  • Using CM (TRIM) – both desktop and web application,
  • Understanding their recordkeeping obligations, and
  • Developing compliant recordkeeping practices.
