Western Sydney CommUNIty Forum

A CommUNIty forum hosted by the University of Western Sydney on Wednesday 7 August provided an opportunity for members of the Western Sydney community to connect and engage directly with their local university.

CommUNIty Forums are an initiative of Universities Australia helping connect universities with local communities and influence the future education agenda.

The Forum, "A Brave New West: What place does higher education have in growing urban regions?", was held on the Parramatta campus and included a diverse panel:

  • Senator Marise Payne, Liberal Senator for NSW
  • Professor Phillip O’Neill, UWS Urban Research Centre and School of Social Sciences and Psychology
  • Christine Cawsey, Principal, Rooty Hill High School
  • David Borger, Western Sydney Director, NSW Business Chamber
The Forum was live streamed and the full video is now available to watch online.
