Education for Academic Integrity: Coming soon to Western!

The Education for Academic Integrity strategy is progressing really well. This coming Summer session will see the piloting of the new Academic Integrity Module before being offered to all students in 2018. This new online module replaces the Epigeum module currently being offered through the Library. Various schools are eager to get involved with academic integrity activities and will additionally embed academic integrity within their curricula in varying ways. An Academic Integrity week is being proposed to promote integrity and good ethical behaviour and to educate both staff and students on aspects such as contract cheating, plagiarism and collusion.

Presentations outlining the above activities will be made by the Education for Academic Integrity working group members at its Symposium on the 22 November, Parramatta South Campus. If you are interested in attending, please discuss with your School Deputy Dean as limited places are available.

For a sneak peek at the new Academic Integrity Module, watch the video below, developed by the Academic Integrity working group and headed by the library. The Academic Integrity modules work through what academic integrity means and provides resources for students to keep them on the right track.
