Kolorob App Wins National Mobile Application Award

The Institute for Culture and Society is pleased to announce that the Kolorob App has been awarded the title of 'Champion' in the 'Inclusion and Empowerment' category of the National Mobile Application Award 2016 (opens in a new window), Bangladesh. This annual award is organised by the ICT Division of the Government of Bangladesh.

The award was handed over by Junayed Ahmed Palak, the State Minister for ICT, at a gala ceremony in Dhaka on 4 May.

As a winner in the national contest, Kolorob is nominated to represent Bangladesh in the same category of the World Summit Awards (opens in a new window).

Western Sydney University and the Institute for Culture and Society proudly support Save the Children Australia's Kolorob project for mapping services and businesses in Dhaka. Kolorob aims to empower users to navigate their cities to make informed choices in accessing essential services. Our researchers have worked with the Kolorob team since 2015, supporting its design and software development.
