Welcome to New Members

As well as recently welcoming Professor Gay Hawkins as an Institute-based member, ICS is pleased to announce the appointment of four new School-based members:

  • Ann Dadich – Senior Lecturer, School of Business
  • Justine Humphry – Lecturer, School of Humanities and Communication Arts
  • Felicity Picken – Lecturer, School of Social Sciences and Psychology; and
  • Margaret Vickers – Professor, School of Business.

Sadly, we also farewell Dr Sonja van Wichelen this month as she leaves ICS for a position with The University of Sydney. Dr van Wichelen has been a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute. Her research projects broadly engage with culture, law, and science in the age of globalisation and the effects that changes in these areas have on our understanding of citizenship. Her current project entitled 'The Changing Rights to Family Life in Australia: Biomedicine and Legal Governance in Globalisation' (funded by an ARC DECRA) investigates the impact of globalisation and biomedicine on the constitution of family through a cultural study of legal processes.

Dr van Wichelen's last day at the Institute is Friday 16 January. We wish her all the best in her new role.
