Western Sydney University established a Student Support Centre which provides a weekly mentoring support and evening meal during University semesters at the Campbelltown campus. During 2017, Medical, Nursing, Law, Health Science, Podiatry and Chinese Medicine all met together during the evening. Each week, meals were prepared in anticipation of 100 students attending. The Student Support enables students to interact socially and receive course support, which is particularly important for international and non-local students.

Future Research Masters (FRM) is an online publication designed to encourage current and former Master of Research (MRes) students from Western Sydney University to share their research with the Australian public, and with the world. The FRM founding Editorial Team worked extremely hard to create the online platform from scratch, and developed a professional website to host the publication. FRM improves the University's community engagement by creating an accessible platform for research communication. It highlights the broader research culture of Western Sydney University, and also provides MRes students with a valuable opportunity for public exposure to promote their research.
