This nomination is an example of how a small, agile, strategically targeted project can have a huge impact. In August 2016 Michael initiated a new, unfunded project to address the gap in outbound calling capability. Marketing needed a highly efficient outbound calling solution that could be stood up in two months and deliver the high volume of calls their new strategy required. The system was delivered in time for the first high volume campaign in December. The campaigns continued until census date in 2017 after which a detailed analysis of the effectiveness of the outbound calling campaign showed that enrolments were boosted by 13% against baseline – just from the outbound calling. This translates to approximately $80M in revenue over the life of the students, delivering a 1600% return on the original $50K investment.

International Admissions has been transformed into a high performing team with significantly increased productivity and service delivery which has contributed to the University exceeding the international enrolment and revenue targets for 2017. This outstanding achievement was made possible with the online international admissions system, StudyLink Connect, implemented in late November 2016. The International Admissions team made a crucial contribution to the successful development, testing and implementation of the StudyLink system and embraced many changes to work practices to maximise efficiencies, increase application turnaround times and conversion rates and deliver a high standard of customer service to all clients.
