Particular Focus in Chaplaincy | I believe Chaplaincy is Intentionally about ‘spiritual’ rather than religious ministry, and therefore must be responsive to all, whether of Faith or no Faith. Spirituality is intrinsic to the human person. It is the self: in-relationship with self, others, nature, environment, universe and the transcendent, however that may be understood, andit is likely to become more conscious at major turning points in our lives So, my main focus is about offering care and support which starts with the person’s own sense of identity, context and needs, ie. person-centred, holistic and inclusive; respectful of differences and valuing diversity. Where a specific religious ministry is identified and requested, it is a primary concern in respect of the Chaplaincy role. |

Wisdom saying (e.g. quote or sacred text) | A most interesting insight we gain when daring to venture forth, is that somewhere along the journey we discover utter trust and confidence in life; and become completely available to the world and its suffering. |
