The Board of Trustees met on 16 February 2005, in the Boardroom, Building AD.

Items included:

  • Progress on implementing changes (including changes to the UWS Act and UWS By-law) to bring UWS into line with the National Governance Protocols. Fortunately, UWS was already operating consistent with many of these requirements, and this has not been a difficult task.
  • Reports on progress in the Academic Program Review, the setting up of student service, (uwsconnect) and student associations (UWSSA and PAUWS); the outcomes of the 2005 Admissions and Enrolments processes.
  • A report on a review by external consultants of UWS' Harassment Policy and Procedures, and related policies and procedures, in response to requests to review how best to manage complaints.
  • Report on progress and the process of further consultations about the re-alignment of colleges and schools.
  • A review of the draft 2004 Financial Statements.
