Unlocking Careers In Sport and Health

This on campus event for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students grades 9-12 explores the wide variety of careers available in the sport and health fields. Friday 17th May 2024, Western Sydney University Parramatta South Campus.

Are you an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young person interested in a career in sport or health? Not sure what jobs you can do or where to start? The Unlocking Careers in Sport and Health event exposes you to a wide range of careers through practical workshops and a panel Q&A with Indigenous industry professionals.

Find out about careers like the health and sport psychology to keep athletes match fit, business and marketing teams that keep sport running, and the important role of Indigenous paramedics, health workers, doctors and nurses that keep our mob and communities strong.

All participating students will receive a free Western Sports Pack on the day!

Students can elect to participate in 2 of the following practical workshops:

  • Sports and Exercise Coaching and Teaching
  • Psychology
  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Sports Management and Marketing
  • Indigenous Community Health
  • Nursing and Midwifery
  • Medicine
  • Social Work
  • Paramedicine
  • Sports Journalism

Registration Details

Date, Time: Friday 17th May 9.30am-2pm.

Location: Western Sydney University Parramatta South Campus Building EA

Who: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students grades 9-12.

Lunch: A free lunch will be provided to all students.

Transportation: Schools/students are expected to arrange their own transportation. If lack of transportation prohibits your attendance, please reach out to discuss alternatives.

Please register by COB Friday 3rd May.

All Indigenous students will receive a free Western Sydney Sport Pack for Participating!
